QuadCore lowers operational carbon

High performance building envelopes are the first step in delivering energy efficient, low carbon buildings. QuadCore offers thermal conductivities as low as 0.018 W/mK, helping to create buildings which achieve significant operational energy savings before the addition of optimised building services, renewable technologies, and ‘clean’ grid supply.

Tackling both embodied and operational carbon emissions, in conjunction with circularity initiatives, allows us to not only reap the benefits of building to higher performance standards, but is also essential to achieving the UN climate targets and addressing the climate crisis.

QuadCore lowers embodied carbon and champions circularity

Our QuadCore solutions don’t just deliver operational carbon savings. We are committed to reducing the embodied emissions and improving the circularity of our products to minimise whole life carbon in buildings. We do this through our LIFECycle™ Product Circularity Framework:

1. Lean and circular design— QuadCore can achieve high levels of performance with thinner and lighter panels. This helps to save material resources, reduces transport and construction impacts and reduces waste.

2. Input materials — QuadCore insulated panels currently contain 10-21% recycled content, and our QuadCore Lower Embodied Carbon (LEC range) contains over 40% recycled content.

3. Factory processes — In addition to maintaining our zero-waste-to-landfill status and investigating all avenues from recycling / re-use of production waste to reducing packaging, we also offer cages to bring back used waste which we then recycle in our manufacturing facility, reducing onsite waste.

4. Extended life models — For end-of-life, our team at IKON in Ireland has proven a technology at lab scale to recycle QuadCore insulation core into raw material for new products.
