Our Tech-eXchange team were challenged to create a building envelope for the 500,000ft2 which would go beyond the basic building regulation requirements for thermal performance, helping to save more energy and costs for the occupier. Working closely with DLA Architecture, they created a building envelope comprising of our AWP Wall Panel, Mini-Micro*, KS1000RW Roof Panel* and QuadCore Topdek panels.

These were specified in a simple range of greys, giving the building a clean and modern aesthetic. This was complemented by the use of our QuadCore Topdek panels, with IKO Armourplan Mid Grey PVC. Additionally, Day-Lite Trapezoidal rooflights were easily integrated within the KS1000RW Roof panels*, allowing a wash of natural daylight to enter the spaces below.

*The AWP Wall Panel and KS1000RW Roof Panels referenced in this case study has a PIR core. This product is now only available in our high performing insulation core, QuadCore Technology.

Since energy efficiency was an important requirement for this project, the fabrications used to provide the final touches to the building envelope also needed to be energy efficient. For example, our Preformed Corners provide smooth panel joints for a superior architectural finish whilst maintaining insulation continuity across the elevations. Our Tech-eXchange team worked closely with the project team to ensure that all the fabrications needed were supplied and fitted as required.
