The Kingspan HK-Design Cassette is a secret-fix hook-on cassette solution that can offer a range of large format cassettes and can be installed in both portrait and landscape format.

Kingspan HK-Design Cassette options include: Flat, Perforated and Corner.

Flat Cassettes

Minimum and maximum sizes for HK-Design aluminium cassettes are illustrated opposite.

Minimum size of 300 mm x 130 mm

Cassettes are available in 1 mm increments up to the maximum face sizes of:

1,350 mm x 3,800 mm*.

*3 mm Corten limited to 1,350mm x 3,200mm.

• Minimum leg length in one direction: 285 mm.

• Maximum leg length in one direction: 450 mm.

• Both legs combined cannot be less than: 570 mm.

• Both legs combined cannot exceed: 1,350 mm.

Dimensions - Product Tolerances

All HK-Design Aluminium Polyester Powder Coated systems are manufactured to the globally recognised Qualicoat standard that includes:

• Four stage chemical pre-treatment process.

• Online checks of ‘Dry Film Thickness’ and ‘Gloss Readings’.

• Post cure checks for adhesion, impact resistance, bending resistance and boiling resistance.

HK-Design Polyester Powder Coated systems are offered with a range of robust periods of both warranty and colour retention, delivered through our standard offering of powder coated systems using the Class 2 range of powders often referred to as ‘Super Durable’.

Corten steel is delivered to site in a green state and forms a self protective patina over time when exposed to repeated wet / dry cycles.

Reaction to Fire

Kingspan HK-Design is manufactured from solid aluminium or Corten weathering steel and all stiffeners are attached via a welded stud and bolt arrangement.

Solid aluminium with a standard 60 micron polyester powder coating (PPC) finish from the Kingspan Colours & Coatings range has a Reaction to Fire Classification of A2-s1, d0 when tested in accordance with EN 13501-1.

Anodised aluminium is an aluminium alloy with an inorganic coating and therefore classified as A1 in accordance with EN 13501-1 without further testing as outlined in EU Commission Decision 96/603/EC.

Corten is an uncoated steel and therefore classified as A1 in accordance with EN 13501-1 without further testing as outlined in EU Commission Decision 96/603/EC.

Kingspan HK-Design has been tested in accordance with ‘Standard for systemised building envelopes’ CWCT, 2006 in the following assembles.

The warranty offerings for our polyester powder coated aluminium HK-Design façade systems can vary dependent on a number of influencing factors that can include:

• Grade of aluminium of rainscreen panel;

• Chosen colour and finish;

• Required matt to gloss levels;

• Locations of the building; and

• Environmental factors.

Standard coating warranty periods of up to 25 years are available and are subject to confirmation of the above factors by application prior to order to confirm coating specification.

Kingspan HK-Design is an aluminium or Corten weathering steel rainscreen façade system that is suitable for use in conjunction with various backing wall structures, these are illustrated below and include both directly fixed applications to either Kingspan QuadCore® Karrier Wall Panels or Kingspan K-Roc™ Karrier Wall Panels providing an ‘extensive (ventilated) cavity’ application.

These backing wall structures are suitable for supporting the entire range of metallic and non-metallic Kingspan external façade finishes.
