Declared Product R-Value is calculated in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.1: 2018 as required for compliance to the National Construction Code.
The R-Values shown above are the total R-Values for the building element as required by the Energy Provisions of the National Construction Code, calculated in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.2: 2018. JI Vulcasteel Roof Panels are manufactured, tested and packaged in conformance with AS/NZS 4859.1: 2018.
* Actual weight subject to vary ±10% due to manufacturing and raw material tolerances.
Insulation Core
JI Vulcasteel Roof Panels are manufactured with a 100kg/m³ non-combustible stone wool core with a tolerance of +10/-5 kg/m³.
Certification and Testing
Reaction to Fire:
JI Vulcasteel Roof Panel is a bonded laminated material. It achieves the following fire test results, as required by clause C2D10 (6)(g) of the National Construction Code (NCC). Therefore, it can be used wherever a non-combustible material is required by the NCC.
JI Vulcasteel stonewool core is not-deemed combustible when tested to AS 1530.1 1994 (2016)
JI Vulcasteel Panel skin (uncoated) is not-deemed combustible when tested to AS 1530.1 1994 (2016)
Ignitability Index: 0 as per AS/NZS: 1530.3: 1999
Spread of Flame Index: 0 as per AS/NZS: 1530.3: 1999
Heat Evolved Index: 0 as per AS/NZS: 1530.3: 1999
Smoke Developed Index: 2 as per AS/NZS: 1530.3: 1999
There are two factory-applied adhesive layers applied during the manufacture of the product. Each adhesive layer does not exceed 1 mm in thickness and the total thickness of the adhesive layers does not exceed 2 mm in thickness.
Insurer Approvals:
JI Vulcasteel Roof Panels are tested to FM 4471 approval standard for class 1 roof panels under the certified name JI Vulcasteel Roof for thicknesses 80mm to 200mm.
Insurer approvals are large scale testing regimes that provide objective third-party testing, which is underpinned by quarterly, half-yearly and yearly factory surveillance audits (depending on the region) to verify compliance. Insurer approvals are subject to panel thickness, width, orientation, method of assembly, steel coating and manufacturing facility.
